My paternal grandmother - Mataniufeagaimaleata - passed away on the 20th of September 2012.
Her funeral was held in Samoa.
Although it was a really sad time for all of us, we also had an amazing time catching up with our family - a lot of whom we hadn't seen in a very long time.

The people you see in these photographs are her family - her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces/nephews. Her legacy will live on through them/us.

These photographs were taken during the week leading up to the funeral, her burial & the couple of days after - through my lens & from my perspective.

This is dedicated to my family.

Tutai: Julianna, Alex & Matthew

56 Grandchildren & counting - Ummm you guys can send me all your kids names & I’ll add them in if you like lol!

These 2 shots of Ainu’u & Nana when they were in New Zealand in 1986 are probably my favourite shots of them both!

Enjoy the photos & lets not leave it another 20+ years before we see each other again guys :)

Uncle Luas faleo’o

When I arrived in Samoa I got in at like 2am so I told Dad not to worry about coming to pick me up at that time of the night & that I’d just stay the night at Aggies Resort (they comped me so that was cool). When I got in and checked my phone I had a text from Dad saying ‘Hi, have you arrived? if you have - welcome to my paradise’ so cute lol! Dads right though - Samoa is paradise!

Titas daughter Sialei in the middle, our cousin Peki to the right & one of our other younger cousins to the left.

The first night we got there we had a family gathering and all the younger girls were called in so they could learn how to do the sua properly in preparation for when the first si’is came. We also had a family devotion straight after this. #Lotu
